Caroline De Scheemaecker joined the Brussels bar in 1995. She studied law at the FUNDP in Namur and the University of Leuven, followed by a Masters of Law (LL.M) in European and Swedish competition law at the University of Stockholm. She completed her education in 2018 at the European Mediation Training for Practioners of Justice to become an accredited mediator in civil and commercial matters.
She perfected her professional training at various law firms, including in Stockholm (Gunnar Lindh’s Advokatbyrå – Nordic DLA), New York (Warshaw Burstein Cohen Schlesinger & Kuh) and especially Brussels, always focusing on national and international corporate law, commercial law and real estate law.
She actively has participated in and helped organise legal conferences as well as sociocultural activities for globally active lawyer networks, international chambers of commerce, and associations with a cultural or economic focus. These activities have helped her accrue both an extensive network and ample expertise in cross-border and multicultural commercial issues, business transaction assistance, mediation procedures and (alternative) dispute settlement on behalf of national and international clients operating across a wide range of business sectors.
Caroline practises law in Dutch, French and English. She also has a good command of Swedish, German and Italian.
